I'm Paul — a professional tiler based in Warrington with over 23 years' experience working across Cheshire and South Manchester. Whether you're in Altrincham, Knutsford, Wilmslow, or anywhere in between, I bring the same preparation-first approach to every job: substrate checked, surfaces levelled, wet areas properly waterproofed, and tiles laid to last.
Most of my work comes through recommendations from previous clients — which is the best evidence I can offer. I don't subcontract, I don't rush, and I don't cut corners on preparation. If you're looking for bathroom tiling in Cheshire, a new porcelain floor, or a full wet room installation — I'd be happy to quote.
600×1200mm porcelain tiles chosen for a new kitchen extension — but the existing and new screed met at different heights, and the new pour was uneven across the 45m² area.
Self-levelling compound applied across the full area to create a single flat plane. Mechanical levelling clips used throughout the tile installation. Epoxy grout applied to all joints. Slip joint installed at the house/extension boundary.
A seamless floor running through both the original kitchen and the extension — no step, no lippage, no visible junction. Exactly what large-format tiles require to look and perform correctly.
A sample of recent projects completed across the region.
Large-format 600×1200mm porcelain floor across an open-plan kitchen and dining extension. The existing screed was uneven across a 40m² area — self-levelling compound applied before tiling, epoxy grout finish throughout. See more about floor tiling in Cheshire →
Full bathroom refurbishment — tiled walls floor-to-ceiling, bespoke porcelain floor with a diagonal feature cut, and a fully tanked wet room enclosure with linear drain. Epoxy grout used on all surfaces. See more about bathroom tiling in Cheshire →
Wood-effect porcelain plank floor laid across a ground-floor hallway and through-lounge. Floor levelled with latex compound first — the boards needed it. Clean, consistent joint spacing throughout. See more about floor tiling services →
Kitchen wall tiling in a newly fitted kitchen. Handmade ceramic tiles with an irregular surface — required careful adhesive selection and a different setting approach. Result was exactly what the client wanted. See more about kitchen tiling in Cheshire →
From bathroom renovations to full ground-floor porcelain floor installations, I cover all aspects of professional tiling. Floors always start with a proper levelling assessment — for larger areas I use self-levelling compound to ensure a flat base. Wet areas get a full tanking system, not just tile adhesive.
Call, email, or WhatsApp with photos and dimensions. I'll give you an early indication before even visiting.
I visit your Cheshire property, assess the substrate, measure the space, and give a clear itemised quote. No upselling, no hidden extras.
The most important stage. Substrates strengthened, surfaces levelled using self-levelling compound where needed, wet areas fully tanked. Done right before a tile goes up.
Tiles laid precisely, grouted with the correct product for the area, joints siliconed, and the space left clean and ready to use.
Based in Warrington, I regularly work across the whole of Cheshire. The Altrincham and Hale Barns area is a regular patch — including Hale and Bowdon. South of there, I cover Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, and Prestbury. Heading west, I cover Knutsford, Mobberley, and Tarporley. Click any location for more detail.

Cheaper almost always means something is being skipped — and it's usually the part you don't see.
Read articleCommon causes of wetroom failures and the proper preparation that prevents costly damage.
Read articleMost failures have nothing to do with the tiles themselves — here's what actually determines lifespan.
Read articleTiling cost depends on the size of the area, the tile format, and what preparation is needed. A standard bathroom might run from £600–£1,200 for labour depending on complexity. Large-format floor tiling in a 30m² kitchen typically includes levelling and runs £800–£1,400 labour. I always provide a clear, itemised quote after a site visit — no guesswork.
Yes. I work across all of Cheshire and South Manchester including Altrincham, Hale, Wilmslow, Knutsford, Prestbury, Alderley Edge, Bowdon, Lymm, Timperley, Stockton Heath, Macclesfield, Tarporley, and Mobberley. No job is too small if it's a quality project.
Always. Floor preparation is the most important part of any tiling project. I check for level, movement, and moisture before any tiles go down. Where the floor isn't flat enough for large-format tiles, I apply self-levelling compound and allow it to fully cure before starting. This is what separates a lasting installation from one that fails.
Sometimes, but only if the existing tiles are fully bonded, the substrate can carry the extra weight, and the height difference to adjacent areas won't cause issues. I'll assess this during a site visit and give an honest recommendation — including if I think it's better to take them up.
I recommend epoxy grout for floors, wet rooms, and any area that gets heavy use or moisture. It's significantly more durable and stain-resistant than cement grout. For wall tiles in dry areas, good-quality cement grout is often perfectly sufficient. I'll advise the right product for your project.
